Abstract: Moving some of the RAN functions to the Cloud is a general trend that leads to different, but related, initiatives aimed to cloudify, virtualize, and/or open the RAN. This talk will describe the rationale of each one and explain their differences in the context of 5G and Beyond-5G cellular communications.
