Norms applying for Masters

  • The new Master’s courses have been established as official teaching courses adapted to the European credit system since the academic year 2010-2011, and in accordance with the stipulations of RD1393/2007 and RD861/2010. A series of regulations have thus been developed that affect you as a student, guaranteeing certain rights that might otherwise be infringed. These regulations can be found at this link:

http://escuelaposgrado.ugr.es/pages/masteres_oficiales/normativa.

Noteworthy among these regulations are those that regulate external practices, credit recognition, the rules of duration and minimum period, and the TFM (Master’s Thesis) guidelines.

  • Tuition fees guarantee the right to two examination sittings per academic year (June/July and September) for all subjects, including the Master’s Thesis (TFM). Once these examination sittings have been completed (and which expire even if you have not sat for them), you will be able to enrol again, but remember that the price of the credit in a second or third enrolment is higher.
  • Finishing your Master’s studies in one academic year should be a priority if you wish to apply for FPU (university teacher training) grants or for admission to a Doctorate Programme, as well as to avoid the aforementioned surcharge. This is particularly important in the case of the TFM matriculation, which can have a duration of between 6 and 30 ECTS. Nevertheless, if before 31st December you realise that you are not going to be able to finish the TFM in that academic year, you are in time to request the modification of your matriculation and the reimbursement of public fees, which will enable you not to use up the two examination sittings of the year and will redeem you of the costs of the second enrolment in the following year.
  • However, if prior to December 30 you are aware that you will not be able to have ended the master thesis (TFM) in the academic year, you are in time to request changes to your enrollment and ask for a return of public prices, which will allow you to not deplete two calls during the present course and to avoid additional enrollment cost next year.
  • You cannot change the registration (annulations or registration) of subjects for which sessions have been taught in more than 20%. You can only alter enrollment once. However, you could alter enrollment a second time if the change is due to the resolution of the call for double master with SRH or INSEEC or due to the resolution of internship assignation.
